Joint EC/EPoSS/ERTRAC Expert Workshop 2011 on EV Architectures

Through this joint workshop on the electric vehicle, held on 30 June 2011 in Berlin, the European Commission and the European Technology Platforms EPoSS and ERTRAC discussed current R&D activities and future challenges for the integration of efficiency, safety, and comfort functionalities into the system of the vehicle. A focus was on smart concepts for the combination of energy storage systems, electric drives and brakes and power electronic controls which will enable radical cuts in weight, energy consumption and cost. Moreover, opportunities for reducing complexity and accelerating innovation by a fundamental revision of the electric and electronic architecture were addressed, and the related issues, e.g. in terms of standardization, networking or testing methods were considered.

Networking Session "Future Steps in ICT for the Fully Electric Vehicle"

More than 120 experts attended a networking session on "Future Steps in ICT for the Fully Electric Vehicle" which was held as part of the ICT 2010 Event in Brussels on 28 September 2010. The session was organized by the ICT4FEV project. Presentations are available for download.

Call for Experts on ICT for the FEV

The European Commission launched a Call for Experts that are interested in performing the evaluations of proposals to the “ICT for the Fully Electric Vehicle” Topic (Objective GC-ICT-2011-6.8 of the ICT Work Programme). Note that the deadline for registrations is 30 September 2010

Joint Strategy and Networking Event 2010 "Thinking Ahead the PPP European Green Cars Initiative"

The ICT4FEV project, the European Technology Platform on Smart Systems Integration (EPoSS) and VDI/VDE-IT on 10 September 2010 organized a joint event to facilitate the participation of interested stakeholders in the European Green Cars Initiative and particularly in the open calls. All presentations will be made available here as soon as authorization has been received from the speakers.

2nd Workshop on Research for the Fully Electric Vehicle

On 11 June 2010 the European Commission's DG Infso held a "Second Workshop on Research for the Fully Electric Vehicle". A number of projects funded within the framework of the European Green Cars Initiative was presented, and information of current National programmes was exchanged.

Report on an Expert Workshop held on 26 June 2009 in Brussels by the European Commission, seeking to understand the landscape of ongoing initiatives at national levels in Europe related to development of fully electric vehicles and the required infrastructure.

European Roadmap Electrification of Road Transport

Starting from a general consideration of the potential benefits of the electric vehicle a definition of milestones for the next ten years is made that indicates what action ought to be taken in order to ensure the required efforts are made in a well-timed and balanced manner. This joint report by the European Technology Platforms ERTRAC, EPoSS and SmartGrids is meant to stimulate the debate about the multi-annual implementation of the European Green Cars Initiative.
